Our Aim:

Strengthening civil society in Ukraine, Moldova and the Southern Caucasus and its involvement in the solution of political, social, cultural and other problems in their countries, and in their region.


Our Objectives:

  •    Information and Education

-        to strengthen capacity building, organisational and communication skills of civil society leaders in Ukraine, Moldova and Southern Caucasus

-        to educate and inform civil society leaders about European democratic processes, standards and values

-        to increase the ability of civil society organisations and their activists to promote domestically Council of Europe standards and use them in their contacts with the authorities.

  •    Communication and Partnership

-        to connect emerging civil society leaders with their peers from the Black Sea region countries and international non-governmental organisations

-        to contribute to dialogue and confidence building between different communities in frozen conflicts zones in the Southern Caucasus and Transnistria


Our Target Group:

Civil society leaders and activists.

The second Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum will take place on 18-19 November 2010 in Berlin, according to an announcement on the European Commission's Eastern Partnership webpage.

The overall aim of the Forum is "to promote contacts among Civil Society Organisations and facilitate their dialogue with public authorities" in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.

Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Ángel Moratinos has stressed the importance for the European Union of strengthening relations with its Eastern Partners, according to a press release from the Spanish EU Presidency.

Moratinos was taking part in an informal meeting on Monday in the northern Polish town of Sopot, bringing together representatives of the EU and the six countries of the Eastern Partnership to discuss the future of the EU's relations with Eastern countries and the Southern Caucasus.
